Overview

Why Apply?

In an age where Millennials are making up a significant part of the workforce, it is getting increasingly more difficult to create a workplace environment that engages every employee, regardless of age, location or personality. The Achievers 50 Most Engaged Workplaces™ Awards celebrate those companies that believe their employees are their number one asset.

Winning this Award has many benefits, only some of which include:

  • Positive impact on your employer brand. When top talent is looking for a job, they are looking for companies where they will be appreciated and encouraged to achieve their best.
  • Increased engagement and retention. Proud employees who are motivated and believe in the company they work for are more likely to work harder and more passionately.
  • A chance to celebrate with your employees. Winning an award is always a great morale booster and validates a company’s hard work. Awards like this, recognizing your commitment to employee engagement, involve the whole organization’s contributions to an engaged workplace.
  • Positive impact on your vendor and client relations. Companies like to do business with those organizations that have similar values.

Winner Testimonials

“To have first been recognized as a Most Engaged Workplace by Achievers was a great thrill for Zappos. The company’s mission is to deliver WOW through service; service both externally to our amazing customers and internally to our dedicated and slightly quirky employees. Since the birth of the company, at the core of everyone’s being is their commitment to do their best for the greater good, guided by our ten Core Values. To next be recognized as one of the Elite 8 in the element of Culture was such an honor, particularly since it further acknowledged the power of living by our Core Values. When we seek new employees, we examine their technical fit, yet the most important component is their culture fit. We want to ensure that once hired, they will protect, preserve, and promote our culture. It is this commitment to the culture that has afforded Zappos the opportunity to achieve our successes. Our people make the difference. We are very thankful to Achievers for recognizing our efforts!”
Shannon Roy, Happiness Hippie, Human Resources, Zappos.com, Inc.
“Credible external recognition can have significant impact on a company’s brand, which directly ties to both talent and client attraction and retention. Many passive job searches begin with prospective recruits tackling the internet to find those companies that have earned industry recognition for best-in-class workplace practices and employee satisfaction. Prospective clients, as well, take to the internet to do due diligence on vendors with whom they are considering doing business. Additionally, recognition such as the Achievers 50 Most Engaged Workplaces™ Award provides current employees with a feeling of pride that undoubtedly impacts retention. Finally, simply going through the act of preparing to submit an application for the Achievers 50 Most Engaged Workplaces™ Award forces a company to take a good look in the mirror to, not only highlight those areas that deserve a spotlight, but to address opportunities for improvement.”
Delta Emerson, SVP, Chief Organizational Development Officer, Ryan LLC
“At RocketSpace we are forced to eat our own dog food. There are few companies in the Business to Business space that live day in day out with their customers.

Creating an engaging workplace is core to our business success. It is critical that our staff is engaged in what we do as our customers have a constant view of our staff at work. Winning the Achievers 50 Most Engaged Workplaces™ Award was a huge boost not just to RocketSpace staff but to all the companies we house. It reminded us that we are all fundamentally people businesses dependent on the performance of our teams.”
Duncan Logan, Founder, RocketSpace Inc.
“We were delighted to be named as one of the Achievers 50 Most Engaged Workplaces™. Our company prides itself on its strong culture and this award serves as a terrific acknowledgment of our progress. We consider the award to be a significant milestone in our growth as a national leader in K-12 tutoring and, more simply, a great place to work. It’s an honor to be recognized alongside other organizations with a similar commitment to excellence. This is also important when we bring on new staff. It can be difficult to distinguish between companies when interviewing. We believe that this accolade helps us to stand apart and sends a clear signal that having a terrific workplace is important at our company.”
Jeff Calareso, National Director of Academics, StudyPoint, Inc.
“When I was notified that we had been selected as one of the Achievers 50 Most Engaged Workplaces™ in Canada, I couldn’t help but to feel a sense of pride that RONA had won this distinguished award. Pride in the sense that this award served to validate that RONA is ‘doing it right’ to engage our 30,000 employees across Canada. It was truly an honour to share this award with a group of some very notable and respected organizations. I would like to acknowledge Achievers for taking the initiative to create such an award for employers that are making an effort to engage their employees and change workplaces in Canada for the better. RONA strongly believes that there is a direct link between engaged employees and profitability and will continue to strive to improve our employee engagement with the goal of making RONA Canada’s leading home improvement retailer.”
Mark Chiarelli, Director, People & Culture, RONA
“It is a great pleasure and honor to win such an award. To me, the quality of the other business winners is a very exclusive list and to be associated with such major companies is alone a great accomplishment for our company. The award enables us to continue to attract great employees to our organization.”
Kevin Swark, Executive President, Genesis Hospitality Inc.
“To be selected as one of the Achievers 50 Most Engaged Workplaces™ in Canada – and especially to be named as one of the Elite 8 in our first year entering – was incredibly rewarding for our entire company. Not only were our employees thrilled, but the recognition has impressed many of our clients and client prospects, too. The submission process was very straightforward and extremely worthwhile, especially given that we’re now able to showcase our status throughout the year with a variety of stakeholders.”
Lisa Kimmel, General Manager, Toronto, Edelman Canada
“Our COO, John Toomey, and his management team support engagement with actions, not just words. They “get it”. They understand that employee engagement should be a priority and as a result it’s become part of our culture. All of our employees are also encouraged to be involved. Our Employee Engagement committee has already begun to establish their focus in 2012 including training both internal and external. We will continue what is already is in place such as programs that give back to our community, our focus on succession planning, talent management and career development, our “Fed Ex” day, and our awards program. We also don’t want to over commit and under deliver as that is a sure to create morale problems. If we ask for feedback, we manage expectations. We know we can’t do everything but we make sure that we accomplish what we commit to. We also know that all programs may require changing or tweaking. We are open and encourage our employees to provide us feedback along the way.

It’s an exciting time at NCP. Winning the Award and working towards winning it again is something that our company is committed to. I’m proud to work for a company that has received such a prestigious award.”
Jane Slater, Manager Human Resources, National Consumer Panel
