Tara Gronhovd is the Director of Learning & Development at Coborns, Inc, a regional grocer with over 9,000 employees and about 150 locations. She has been with the company since 2017. During her two years with the organization, she has helped align Learning & Development with overall business strategy and has built strong internal partnerships to ensure the success of engagement, learning and leadership development initiatives. The successful rollout of the Listen Pulse Surveys is one example of successful collaboration to achieve business goals.
Tara’s role oversees a team responsible for Learning, Leadership Development, Performance and Goals Strategy, Training, Change Management, Recognition and Engagement. Growing up the daughter of an entrepreneur and having run a successful consulting business, she has a passion for business leadership and genuinely loves to talk business strategy and brainstorming ways to positively influence team dynamics. She spends most of her days in cross-functional meetings helping to manage expectations while looking for windows of opportunity to help drive the company’s vision and mission.
Fun Facts: Tara’s career path brought her from fundraising to consulting to being the Vice President at a Community Bank before landing at Coborn’s in Learning & Development. Being in grocery makes perfect sense since she loves to experiment in the kitchen and believes food is the 6th love language. Tara has been married to husband Dale for about 6 years and is a proud mother of three with a 22 year span between the oldest and youngest (one in college and two in diaper; 2018 was a fun, sleepless year). This year the family is enjoying their new RV and exploring family campgrounds across Minnesota.
