Unfortunately, the retail apocalypse is real. Only two years ago, more than 5800 stores announced they were closing. Today, companies like Fred’s, Charlotte Russe, Family Dollar, Chico’s, and Payless join 12,000 stores that are expected to close at least some, if not all, of their locations by the end of 2019.
Despite this, some retailers are growing year over year and dominating huge portions of the market. The question is: how are they adapting so well to this new and hostile retail environment? What are they doing right that other retailers are failing to grasp?
